“I love being a black girl and I thank God everyday I get to impact other queens” Autumn Myers, creator of the Queens Sessions

She currently runs and founded her own media brand dedicating to sharing authentic & empowering stories for women of color. The Queen Sessions is 2 years old & still continues to grow each year. Autumn also partakes in social activism and media strategy for the popular brand, America Hates US. Along with doing social media strategy for influencers and personalities.

The Queens Sessions is a media brand curated by women who are living truth of their experiences as a woman of color. Inspired to create a brand that would unify and give spotlight to different cultures. Autumn believes it’s important to educate ourselves as women and women of color. We discuss certain topics in the minority communities that affect us on the daily. Topics such as colorism, postpartum depression, sexuality, and culture acceptance in a White America are all issues we tackle on The Queens Sessions.

Why do you feel your brand is important for other black women ?

It's about discussing our stories, passions, and careers from our own narratives. I am tired of seeing the same narrative being passed around to define Black women. We can be go-getters, stay at home mamas, ghetto fabulous, and more. We don't have a box with labels on it and I strive to continue to dismantle these boxes society places Black women in

If you had one piece of advice to those just starting out a business, what would it be?

Be prepared for frustration and more. You will have roadblocks and you will feel a little discouraged. Don't let a slow day ruin a great year. Keep your mind and passion strong for what you are doing. Also, wine helps!

So there you have it Nubian Shorties ! Let’s Support Our Local Black Girl and make sure you go check out the The Queens Sessions.
