What inspired you to start your brand?

I was inspired during my sophomore year in college I was extremely stressed between school, work, and a toxic relationship. I started making my own scrubs and butters to have mini “spa” days for myself. After doing for a few months, I started to make them for my friends and family who suggested that I should sell them.

If you had one piece of advice to those just starting out a business, what would it be?

I would advise anyone who is starting a business to be prepared to do a lot on your own. Hiring too many people, when you don’t have the money right away isn’t best. Do what you can until you can afford to pay for outsourced work. 

Why do I feel my brand is important to black women?

I feel my brand is important because there needs to be more black women owned skincare companies. As black women we should be in charge of the health of our skin and minds. The industry has been dominated by others too long and it’s time we start brands that will cater to our specific needs.
